Weiss Adds Mesarovic to Signing Class

CLEMSON, S.C.  –  Robbie Weiss and the Clemson men’s tennis team are excited to announce the signing of Marko Mesarovic. He will join the team in August of 2023. I could not be more excited to have Marko join our program in the fall of 2023, said Head Coach Robbie Weiss. Marko is a top recruit and will have a big impact on our program.  He is not only a great player, but a great person and will be an excellent teammate.  I feel fortunate that Marko chose Clemson as he had a lot of options.  Marko is just scratching the surface of his potential, and I look forward to being on the journey with him. All three doubles pairs played excellent tennis, with Spencer Whitaker and Max Smith dominating 6-1 on Court 1 while Plans Gonzalez and Ethan Silva defeated Penn State’s Bossem/Bhatanger in a tight 7-6 win. Matt Pitts and Trey Stinchcomb secured the doubles sweep with a 6-3 victory over Saadi/Nemani.   For complete coverage of the Clemson men’s tennis team follow @ClemsonMTenn

CLEMSON, S.C. - Head Coach Robbie Weiss announced the addition of Assistant Coach Austin Rapp on Friday. Rapp joins the Tigers after working at the University of Texas for the past two seasons, serving as a volunteer assistant coach. QUOTE FROM RAPP QUOTE FROM ROBBIE This past season, despite the team facing an unprecedented string of injuries, the Longhorns still reached the NCAA Tournament Round of 16 and posted at least 18 wins each for an eighth-consecutive season. All of Texas' 11 losses came to opponents ranked at least in the top 15 with nine of those against teams in the top six, including 4-3 defeat against No. 1 Florida and No. 2 Ohio State. The season also featured wins versus that same Gators team at ITA Indoor Nationals, which Texas reached for the fourth-straight year, and at No. 9 USC. In 2021, Rapp helped the Longhorns to a 24-6 overall record, a share of the regular season Big 12 Championship, an appearance in the NCAA Final Four and an ITA Final Ranking of No.
