The award-winning book, commissioned by the Alabama Black Belt Adventure Association (ALBBAA), celebrates the Black Belt’s rich hunting and fishing heritage and gives an in-depth looks at all that makes the region so special.
The deluxe hardcover book was awarded first place in the Industry Public Relations Category from the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association’s (SEOPA) annual Excellence in Craft awards. maybe next year. it s a multi-million-dollar enterprise frankly. what have you learned about the entrepreneurial spirit in america that you want our viewers to know about? well, we put the book out there because we went back all the way through american history and talked about really entrepreneurs that have helped choke the country. and also put our story in there about dad coming out with this double reeded duck call and for that taking a long time to come about about 40-something years before everybody knew who we were. it was a long journey and kids worked this all aspects of the business. i had my own business ventures selling gum and candy and sold earth worms for a while which is a tough business as you probably know. i m sure you were in the worming business as well. ed: i was no. killing, you know, our businesses. when you were with phil when the duck call business started, right? you were his first partner, right? so on a good year years ago, how many duck calls did you snell. good grief. he started out one of the first years like 8,000. okay. he turned the machine and now we re rolling. now how many are you snelling. we hit a million. over a million. cy is the guy that complains when i say we have a huge order of 20,000 calls. he goes, good grief. now i got to go out there and make reeds. them look heavy. yeah, they re heavy. why don t you help me? what are you laughing at you old coot? it s a different way he looks at business. you want to say keep working. he rolled his eyes. look, you have those that run

we have more people that make duck calls, too. we still make them here. it s just that, you know, the show now, a lot of people are buying duck calls. and so i have another room that has people in it that literally work eight hours a day. so when i get besides sitting over there. but, you know but jay has to teach all the new guys how to make the calls, you know, the technical aspects. it s like a musical instrument. it s not like anybody can throw a duck call together. how did your father start this business and he started 40 years ago? yeah, he just wanted a better duck call. i watch the show a lot. they are always playing basketball. where is the basketball snoop. it s out there. see if we they probably hid the basketball from us. when we come back, willie and i are going to shoot some basketball hoops. i think we ll play lal one-on-one and see who has the better game as hannity continues. would you consider a 4-star hotel that s up to 60% off,
