Adam Johnson was crowned the overall winner of the Funtastic Big Bass Tournament Sunday at Oakland Marina on Bull Shoals Lake. Johnson won the 9:00 weigh-in with a 4.53-pound largemouth bass and kept the overall lead for the rest of the day. His total winnings were $1,100.
Shane Norris took the first $100 prize after catching a 3.55-pound fish for the 8:00 weigh-in. Other hourly winners include Dub Johnson at 10:00 with 2.9 pounds, Jeff McLean at 11:00 with 3.1, Cody Smith at noon with 2.99, Winston Scott at 1:00 with 3.43, Nathan Mooney at 2:00 with 3.25, Alan Stewart at 3:00 with 4.27 and John Hill at 4:00 with 3.66 pounds.
In addition, there was an optional side pot for the biggest smallmouth bass of the tournament. Brent Chapman won the pot with a 3.13-pound fish during the 1:00 weigh-ins.
The Norfork and Bull Shoals Winter No A-Rig Bass Tournament Series is presenting a special event this weekend. The Brian Wilson Benefit Fishing Tournament will be held Saturday at Lake Norfork Marina in Henderson.
The entry fee is $100, and checks should be made payable to “Anglers for Life.” Fees will be collected beginning at 5 a.m. Boats will launch at 7, and weigh-ins start at 3 p.m.
Paybacks will go to at least the top five finishers, with the top 10 being the maximum. Gift cards to Bass Pro Shops will be awarded to the three biggest bass, and the smallest live weight will win a $150 gift certificate for the Jewel Bait Company.
