Lawmakers belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf submitted a resolution in the Sindh Assembly on Wednesday to seek the dismissal of the provincial police chief for âpolitically retaliatingâ against leaders and workers of the party in the province.
PTI MPAs Khurram Sher Zaman, Bilal Ghaffar, Jamal Siddiqui, Shehzad Qureshi, Rabistan Khan, Dr Sanjay, Dr Seema Zia, Adiba Arif Hassan and Dua Bhutto submitted the resolution to the secretary of the provincial legislature.
Later, talking to the media, PTI Karachi president and MPA Khurram Sher Zaman said the Pakistan Peoples Party wanted to make Sindh a police state. âThe situation in the Sindh province is getting worse and worse. The PPP is using the Sindh police for its personal purposes, the evidence of which is in front of everyone,â he said. Zaman said that everyone saw through the media what role the police played in the recent PS-88 by-election.

With the rift between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) deepening, Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani issued on Wednesday the production order of opposition leader in the provincial assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh.
Haleem - whose arrest on charges of rioting and violence during the PS-88 by-polls escalated tensions between the PPP, the ruling party in Sindh, and the PTI, which leads the opposition in the provincial assembly - will be required to attend the Sindh Assembly session today (Thursday), following the issuance of the production order.

A large number of leaders and workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Tuesday gathered outside the Karachi Press Club to show their anger against the Pakistan Peoples Party-led Sindh government over an alleged ongoing crackdown on the partyâs workers and the arrest and alleged mistreatment of Sindh Assembly opposition leader Haleem Adil Sheikh.
PTI lawmakers elected from Karachi, including former opposition leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi, parliamentary leader Bilal Ghaffar, Karachi president Khurram Sherzaman, Saeed Afridi, Arsalan Taj, Jamal Siddiqui, Ramzan Ghanchi, Raja Azhar, Rabistan Khan, Riaz Haider, Adeel Ahmed, Dua Bhutto, and MNA Jay Parakash Lohana, attended the rally.
