After an opening two days fraught with traffic issues and complaints over performers, the organisers at the Santa s Grotto drive-thru at Taverham Hall have very much got their act together.
Accessing the historic venue was difficult in torrential rain, but the bright purple sky above the estate was a welcome sign that we were close to our destination.

On what was a dark, gloomy night elsewhere, entering the grounds was like a different world. Multicoloured lights lit up the skeletal outlines of the trees lining the route, providing much-needed colour in miserable weather.

Families have demanded organisers issue refunds over ‘chaotic’ traffic delays and a festive disappointment at what is billed as Norfolk’s first drive-thru Santa’s grotto.
The attraction in the grounds of Taverham Hall, just outside Norwich, is billed as a way to experience a visit to see Santa while social distancing.

Visitors were promised a drive into a festive grotto featuring a cast of 20 actor-performers including popular locals entertainers including Norfolk-based international performer Jack Ireland.

Families heading to a new festive attraction in Norfolk are guaranteed a bright future from this weekend as a new event captures the essence of Christmas.
A team of lighting experts are working with a director, production crew and 20 actor-performers including popular singer Joe Ringer and international Norfolk-based performer Jack Ireland to bring the very first Drive-Thru Santa’s Grotto to life at Taverham Hall, just outside Norwich.
Opening on Friday, December 18 and running until Christmas Eve, visitors can drive a 1km trail and follow the story of Father Christmas who needs their help to ensure everyone gets their presents on time.
