At the Tampa Greyhound Track, vaccination leaders had 3,000 doses of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine that they planned to give out Tuesday. Instead, they hauled all those doses back to the health department to be refrigerated until they get further guidance.

TAMPA, Fla. â More people in Florida are now eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
As of Monday, people 60 and older are able to get the shot, adding to the thousands of people in the state whoâve already gotten at least one dose. Tampa Bay area health experts think vaccinations are on the right track.
âI felt great, and I was going to be one of the first people to get it, 60 plus,â said Mike Cerny, who got the vaccine at the Tampa Greyhound Track site Monday. âI was very happy to have the eligibility.â

Pfizer and Moderna are set to send nearly 950,000 total doses to the state next week, and Johnson and Johnson sent over 175,000 on Thursday.

TAMPA, Fla. â Super Bowl LV was not a super spreader. Thatâs according to officials with the Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County who tracked daily case counts between January 22 and February 24, only noticing a slight increase in case positivity.
âThe Super Bowl was not a super spreader,â said Rob Higgins, CEO of the Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee.
