TAMPA, Fla. â As COVID-19 vaccination pace picks up among adults, many parents are left wondering âwhen will we know if itâs safe for children to get vaccinated, and do they actually need to be?â
Theyâre good questions, especially since we know kids donât typically get as sick with the virus. But two local doctors warn, there are still plenty of reasons for children to get vaccinated, once a vaccine is deemed safe.

âThat really sort of ties into the fact that this is a really insidious virus and something thatâs going to be really hard for us to control,â said USF Healthâs Dr. Thomas Unnasch.
