Department of Health (DOH)-Central Visayas chief pathologist, Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, said Lapu-Lapu City was able to reconcile its vaccination data, pulling out names from other categories and transferred them to the A2 category for the national vaccine rollout. "Lapu-Lapu City was able to present its compliance to the fourth requirement before a locality can be allowed to transition to Alert Level 1, that is to inoculate 70 percent of the total population of elderlies," Loreche, also a VVOC spokesperson, told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) in an interview. Department of Health (DOH)-Central Visayas chief pathologist, Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, said in a presser Central Visayas will remain under Alert Level 2 even if many localities in the country will start observing the lowest restriction starting on Tuesday, because the region's vaccinated elderlies are still below 80 percent of their population. Setting a minimum coverage for the seniors is the fourth requirement under Resolution No. 146-D series of 2021 issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) for an area's placement under Alert Level 1. On Tuesday, the Department of Health (DOH) in Central Visayas approved to use the allocation supposedly for the second dose so that inoculation of the kids here could continue. In a phone interview, CCHD head Dr. Jeffrey Ibones said they stopped the inoculation of the pediatric population after the vaccine ran out on Monday due to the high turnout of children whose parents sought their protection against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). Ibones said vaccination sites running out of doses of jabs in the course of inoculating the younger age group is a "good sign" that parents wanted their kids to get protected against the virus. "We are thankful to the parents for deciding to send their children for vaccination. The turnout is overwhelming," he said. On the
