Many of Woodstockâs downtown businesses are in âdire straitsâ and some are even considering leaving the core, Oxford County council heard in a presentation this week by the cityâs business improvement area director.
The Downtown Woodstock BIA is looking for the county to âcome to the tableâ to help with solutions for the mental health, addictions and homelessness problems that plague the core and are affecting local businesses, said Virginia Armstrong, manager of the Downtown Woodstock BIA.

Community Free Table Will be Open on Boxing Day
WOODSTOCK - The Community Free Table will be open to anyone in need on Boxing Day.
They will have the table set up behind the Epiphany Church in Downtown Woodstock even though it s a holiday. Organizer Chris Eby says even though it s a holiday, people still need to eat.
They will have some free food available to anyone who may need it.
The Community Free Table is set up every Saturday between 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. They usually serve around 80 people every week and a lot of wonderful volunteers work really hard to make this happen.
