The storm door is wide open in the San Francisco Bay Area with three systems sweeping the region over the next week, bringing a wintry mix of chilly temperatures, heavy rain, isolated thunderstorms, small hail, high-elevation snow and the first atmospheric river of the season.
The first storm, the weakest of the three, arrived Thursday night and delivered light rain across the region overnight and more showers are on the way Friday morning and afternoon. Seattle was ranked among the top 15 large cities across the country where homeowners put 30% or more of their income toward their mortgages in 2020, according to a new study.
The study, from Point2Homes, found in Seattle, the median home price in the city in 2020 was $780,806 and the median household income was $107,098. Seattle homeowners put about 30% of their income toward their mortgages, earning the city the 15th spot on a new list of the most cost-burdened large cities in 2020 which the study defined as cities where homeowners spend 30% or more of their incomes on their mortgages.

California is starting to vaccinate residents 65 and older as demand subsides for health care workers, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Wednesday.
“There is no higher priority than efficiently and equitably distributing these vaccines as quickly as possible to those who face the gravest consequences,” Newsom said in a statement. “To those not yet eligible for vaccines, your turn is coming. We are doing everything we can to bring more vaccine into the state.”
