Day with temperatures much like yesterday. Tomorrow, well see more cloud cover and the weekend may bring us a few scattered showers. Rain is not likely to be heavy but well talk more about details regarding the weekend. Youve had a couple of incidents pop up in the last couple of minutes that are pretty impactful. Yes, we had an incident on 440 offer on the east side of raleigh. There is at least one accident in that area. Now it hooks like there is another a little bit further along. If we take a look at the first incident, this on the beltline at new bern avenue. It looks like it is very close to being cleared. There was an overturned vehicle in the left lanes and at one point we were down to only one lane of traffic being able to move through the area. You also have the traffic merging onto 440 west. 12 30 this morning behind the panera. Police tell us no railroads have been made. Though two men have not been identified although they do expect to refleece that at some point later today. No arrests have been made. That brings you back here to the days inn off of glenwood. Maybe half a mile down or so where we saw investigators questioning two people. We know investigators left with at least one of them. I asked the lieutenant if that person is a suspect, if that person is a person of you want rest. He told us at this point, they are simply questioning those two people. But again, they were right here just about an hour ago in room 221 just over my shoulder. I know housekeeping has been told not to go in there, not to clean up that room. I also talked to a few people would were here who were staying at this hotel at this second scene. The town of cobb southwest of lower lake and highway 29. The fire started at 1 30 this afternoon and blew up to 400 acres within a matter of hours. Right now firefighters have zero containment. It has spread so rapidly that all 1800 people in the town of cobb are being told they need to evacuate. Some people had only a few minutes to grab what they could and get out. If i could help anybody, i was trying to help our neighbors. And my animals. And my children. Thats and pictures, thats all i could think about. You did great. I wish i could help the people across the street from us more. She says her neighbors lost a bar that dates back to the 1800s. She says the flames got so close, she could feel the heat. Now the four injured firefighters were airlifted to uc davis just a few hours ago. The hospital there has a burn unit and cal fire says they were with the helicopter crew based out of lake county. People in social media say it is raining ash. This picture from twitter shows a heavy plume of thick black smoke. This picture was taken from middleton not far from cobb mountain. As you know, the fuel is thick, dry brush and we will have more on this fire coming up at 6 30. The butte fire in the sierras has charred nearly 65,000 acres and prompted a state of Emergency Declaration by the governor. Its prompted thousands of mandatory evacuations and its only 10 contained. Fires in gold country not far from jackson along highway 49 and you can see the areas where people are being told to leave.
