Son of Leitrim couple awarded for heroic actions during New York shooting

Douglas Brady, who is New York based Mullies native Frank Brady and Glenade native Helen Brady’s son, has recently been honoured for his police work in the Big Apple and promoted to the Detective rank. He works for the Yonkers Police Department and was assigned to their Emergency Service Unit. The unit is part of a uniquely trained and equipped squad that performs tactical, rescue and swat operations.
Paradise transient arrested for having several hypodermic needles
A Paradise Police Officer observed a suspicious vehicle at the entrance of a burned lot on the 6700 Block of Clark Rd., on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 11:27 a.m. The vehicle had two people in it.

PARADISE, Calif.- A Paradise Police Officer observed a suspicious vehicle at the entrance of a burned lot on the 6700 Block of Clark Rd., on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 11:27 a.m. The vehicle had two people in it.
The driver was identified as Douglas Brady, a Paradise transient.
The officer did a weapons search on Brady and found numerous hypodermic needles in Brady’s jacket.
