Fisher, 30, of 910 Doolin Ave. was formally charged Monday with unlawful possession of a fire engine and criminal trespass to a motor vehicle. He is accused of stealing the firetruck from the front of the fire station at 200 W. Douglas Ave.

The Jacksonville Fire Department responded to a call of a possible structure fire at 741 North Main Street at approximately 6:45 Sunday night. Jacksonville Fire Chief Doug Sills says the fire had fully consumed the interior of a portion of the structure when crews arrived. “ Upon arrival, there was heavy fire involvement in the garage on the north side of the structure. Crews were informed once they got on scene that there were possibly two residents still inside.

Fire forces man to escape out window Darren Iozia, darren.iozia@myjournalcourier.com FacebookTwitterEmail A lighted candle in the first-floor hallway ignited a curtain that was thrown from the second floor causing it to catch fire and spread throughout the home, damaging the integrity of the property Thursday evening. Darren Iozia | Journal-Courier A fire that spread Thursday evening through a house on Grove Street has left a resident out of his home.  Jacksonville Fire Chief Doug Sills said his department was called at 7:47 p.m. Thursday to a fire at 872 Grove St. that quickly had spread throughout the interior.  The owner of the home was burning a candle in the downstairs hallway when he threw a curtain down from the second floor, Sills said.
