Romantic flames that were first sparked more than four decades ago and half a world away recently rekindled between an Irwin woman and a fellow Navy veteran. Picking up where they left off, Beverly Detofsky and Doug Reichman aren’t wasting any more time. They’re scheduled to exchange 
wedding vows Monday
There are already plans to do the City of Christmas decorating contest again next year, but this past Friday, the winners of this yearâs inaugural event gathered in Rand Park to receive their prizes and get a photo to recognize their hard work in putting together their displays.
The contest was done in honor of John Briscoe, who had a mini City of Christmas in his yard every year. His wife, Robin Briscoe, was at the park on Friday and she gave the prizes in front of the tree dedicated to her late husband. His displays were donated to the City of Christmas after his passing.
