Alcohol sales
The council on Monday also approved the first reading of an ordinance that, with final approval, would revise the hours for when alcoholic beverages can be sold in Crestview.
The city currently prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages from 4-7 a.m. Monday through Saturday and from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. Exceptions to the rule are any restaurants that regularly serve full meals from 10 a.m. until 4 a.m. the following morning.
The proposed ordinance calls for prohibiting the sale of alcohol from 4-7 a.m. every day. That means people would be able to buy alcohol starting at 7 a.m. on Sunday instead of having to wait until 1 p.m. that day.
