Val Keates, 78, of Tarquin Drive, Rhyl, was targeted by a heartless burglar(s) earlier this week. The cruel incident happened just days after Doris Copeland became a victim; The 82-year-old dozed off late on Friday afternoon (December 18) and woke up to find her handbag had been moved. The thief made off with treasured jewellery and £250 in cash. Daughter Liza said her mum Val had been out of the house for a short period of time when the burglary happened. My mum went out and she is quite routine with the way that she goes out, Liza explained. I think they have looked. She left her bedroom window, it is a small, slant window, so they have put their arm through the window to open the side one and then crawled through the side one.

A FUNDRAISER has been launched to help an 82-year-old whose house was ransacked by a ‘cowardly’ burglar - whilst she was inside. Doris Copeland, who lives in Rhyl, dozed off late Friday afternoon on December 18. She woke up to find her handbag had been moved before hearing the intruder rummaging through her belongings. The pensioner rang her daughter Caroline Jones. Caroline and the police rushed over to the house, but the cruel thief had already fled and had made off with treasured items including a sapphire and diamond pendant, a gold necklace with a pendant, four or five pairs of earrings, Doris’ wedding ring and £250 in cash.
