Dryden Hospital Administers First Doses Of COVID-19 Vaccine

Dryden Regional Health Centre/CKDR Archives A milestone for the Dryden Regional Health Centre, in the fight against COVID-19. The hospital has administered their first COVID-19 vaccines and patients are on the receiving end. 12 patients at the hospital have received their first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. “We’re very pleased to have received the vaccine, and we’re happy to be able to start vaccinating our most vulnerable populations,” says Doreen Armstrong-Ross, Chief Executive Officer of the Dryden Regional Health Centre. The vaccines were received from the Northwestern Health Unit on Tuesday February 9. “While the arrival of the vaccine is an important step in our ongoing battle against COVID19, there is still a long road ahead,” adds Armstrong-Ross. “A vaccination of this scale will take time. Nothing Changing At Dryden Hospital

It should be business as usual at the Dryden Regional Health Centre during the Ontario shutdown. Elective surgeries, testing, diagnostics, treatments and most other services will continue as planned. Individual appointments may be moved to a virtual platform where possible. Current visitor policies will also remain in place. Officials say they learned a lot during the first shutdown and that’s why they are able to maintain services. Chief Executive Officer Doreen Armstrong-Ross says they are keeping a close eye on the situation, but at this time they are confident that they can continue to operate at full capacity. She adds their screening and COVID-19 safety protocols are strong, and the new ways in which they run the organization and care for patients will keep our patients and staff safe.
