Good evening im steve daniels. And im tisha powell. Zora felton passed away at the age of 65 today. She was absent from last nights School Board Meeting after falling ill. Angelica alvarez is live outside Sanderson High School in raleighwith more on the sudden passing. This is where it she graduated from sanderson high. Started teaching here in 1973. Shes a mother. They were brought out of the Performing Arts Center hands of screaming no justice two of 50 people protesting the lion king show. The two new students were the only demonstrators to go inside the venue in protest. We made that statement. No more jail. Reporter other demonstrators blocked bingham street and marched around the jail. They say their goal is to raise awareness by interrupting shows. Across the street, people tend to be unaware that there is even a jail. Reporter there have been three in custody deaths since 2015 in the jail. Ever due to medical neglect. They also worry about conditions inside the jail. Up we dont continue to bring conditions to it, people will continue to die. Overdose. The other two cases are still under investigation. Protesters say they would like an independent investigation, as well.
