Coach’s comment: Dominic Marquez is a 9th grader at PRHS. Dominic has demonstrated some major commitment to the wrestling team this year. I have seen tremendous growth in him as a wrestler. Dominic is learning how to compete at the highest level and if he continues with his commitment we will see big things from him in the sport of wrestling. – Coach Nate Ybarra

Coach’s comment: Kristal and Jasmin competed this week in Mountain League Finals for Girls Tennis. They were seeded fifth for the tournament and played 4 matches on Friday. With solid doubles play and determination, they both played well enough to qualify for the Area Tournament next Saturday at San Luis Obispo High School. Kristal is our team captain and played Number 2 singles for the season. Jasmin played Number 4 singles for the season.
CLERMONT Police have arrested a man on a weapons charge in connection to a 2019 homicide that must have looked like a scene in a movie if his sensational story is accurate.
Jose M. Zeno, 26, of Clermont, was arrested Wednesday and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Police on Jan. 23 of that year responded to the calls of several witnesses at Sundance Apartments of “several gun shots fired, screaming, yelling and tires screeching away,” according to court records.
One witness told police that a car normally parked in the space where the shooting took place was missing. While trying to track down the resident who parked there, police got a call that a man had gone to the sheriff’s substation wanting to turn himself in.
