Imo assemblyman s aide kidnapped

TODAY January 28, 2021 An aide to a member representing Oru West State Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, Dominic Ezerioha has been abducted by gunmen. The victim, identified as Chetachi Linus Igboenyesi, popularly known as London Biggy, was reportedly kidnapped while on his way to Uli community in Anambra State, on Tuesday night. According to a trending video of Igboenyesi’s kidnap on social media platforms, he was whisked away from his car after the gunmen shot and shattered his car windows. He was said to be driving a white Mercedes ML 350 4Matic with plate number IMHA – 48, about 11:35pm when the incident happened.

Imo Assembly begins probe of impeached speaker

Punch Newspapers Sections Chidiebube Okeoma, Owerri The Imo State Assembly on Wednesday started a probe of the immediate past Speaker of the House, Collins Chiji, who was earlier impeached by his colleagues over alleged financial recklessness, incompetence and sabotage. He was removed from office in November. The Assembly resolved to audit the financial records of the legislature beginning from June 2019 to November 2020. At the plenary on Wednesday, former minority leader, Ekene Nnodimele, who represents Orsu state constituency, moved a motion for the probe. Nnodimele, who also moved the motion for Chiji’s impeachment in November, said the probe was necessary so as to instill the culture of transparency and accountability in the Assembly.
