STILLWATER Once AJ Ferrari got his opponent’s leg wrapped up, it took nearly 15 seconds to execute the takedown, but that was all Ferrari needed.
An Oklahoma State true freshman, Ferrari rode out the final minute-and-a-half for a 4-1 decision over Oklahoma’s Jake Woodley that sealed the Cowboys’ team victory in the Bedlam dual, 24-16 on Sunday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Ferrari, ranked No. 12, and Woodley, ranked 15th, battled for points, but each managed only a single escape point until early in the third period.

Iowa s Spencer Lee continued his pinning streak this weekend and Virginia Tech s Sam Latona stepped up as a hero for the Hokies.
Here s what you might have missed in college wrestling last weekend and what you need to know as the conference tournaments inch closer.
Iowa notched two more wins despite COVID-19 absences
Iowa, despite being outside of the welcoming walls of Carver-Hawkeye Arena, had no problem downing two more Big Ten opponents on Sunday. The Hawkeyes got dominant efforts from top-ranked Spencer Lee and Jaydin Eierman, and key victories from bonus-point machines Austin DeSanto and Tony Cassioppi.
The history of the Bedlam wrestling rivalry has favored Oklahoma State, and the recent history of the rivalry has heavily favored the Cowboys.
The overall series record is 143-27-10, and the Cowboys have only lost to the Sooners once since 2008. So far this season the Cowboys are 7-0 while the Sooners are 5-3, with two losses to teams the Cowboys have beat in Northern Iowa and Iowa State.
The Cowboys are going to be favored again on Sunday when they take the mats for the 181st time vs. their Bedlam rivals, but it may not be that simple.
Right now the Cowboys are pretty beat up. Kaid Brock was out and did not travel to Iowa this past weekend, Wyatt Sheets was back for the first time in a few weeks, with a heavily braced knee that clearly had him hobbled. Undefeated freshman Dustin Plott did not wrestle vs. Northern Iowa, and Daton Fix is out under a suspension until Feb. 10.
