Town will be aiming to win back-to-back League One games for the first time since October when they visit the Abbey Stadium to take on Cambridge United on Saturday on what could prove a significant afternoon at the top of the division.
Stand-in skipper Conor Chaplin headed the winner in the 75th minute as Town came from a goal down to beat Sunderland 2-1 at Portman Road. Jack Clarke gave the Black Cats the lead on 26 but Kayden Jackson levelled seven minutes later as the Blues grew into the game and then deservedly claimed the three points via Chaplin’s header 15 minutes from time.
TWTD understands Town are in advanced talks regarding the loan signing of Blackburn Rovers captain Lewis Travis with the deal expected to be confirmed today.
Town recorded back-to-back 0-0 draws for the first time under Kieran McKenna as they were frustrated to a goalless stalemate by 10-man Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium. The Potters were reduced in number on 67 after midfielder Jordan Thompson was dismissed for a second yellow card for something he said to the referee - having been fortunate not to have been shown a straight red in the first - with the Blues dominating from there but without ever really looking like grabbing their first goal of 2024.
