Have a great weekend, our thanks to Nicolle Wallace first big week back. Welcome to the beat, im ari melber, we have a special show for you tonight. We have a lot to get to. Lets get right into today. Jack smith making a new pitch on behalf of the doj on why donald trump must be put on trial before the election. If that sounds like a familiar issue, jack smith has more than one case against Defendant Trump. So, the defendant was actually down in Federal Court today watching as doj prosecutors argued for a july beginning to a trial in the other jack smith case, earlier in the week discussing the big coup case and the Supreme Court slowing that down. This is the classified documents case, you probably remember both, and they are saying, over at the doj, there is nothing in their rule or precedents which prevents this trial, on the documents, fro
the sunday show. this sunday, we re following a lot of breaking news, including that mass shooting in monterrey, parkville fournié. this left ten people dead. we ll bring you the latest in just a moment. we begin with breaking news in the classified investigation. the white house is facing mounting questions after a reveal the federal agents search president biden s home in wilmington delaware for 13 hours on friday, and found more items with classified markings. the search was prompted by a white house, not the justice department, according to a white house official. the president s personal attorney issued a statement saying, quote, doj took possession ofmaterials deemed within the scope of its inquiry. including six items consisting of documents of classification markings, and surrounding materials. some of which were from the president surface in senate, and some of which were from his tenure as vice president. this is the fourth instance of classified documents being fo
that is something that the president has said going all the way back to the campaign, that he thinks that the justice department should be strong, should be independent, should not be subject to undue political influence. and so when this matter started, we have been fully cooperative, the president has been fully cooperative, and it is consistent with that but we don t want to speak too much about underlying facts. but but this raises the question that i have heard a lot of people raise, and that, is why it wasn t a complete search of all the properties done back in november when the first batch of documents were found? the presidents lawyers, as we said, we have been working with the department of justice throughout this process, on their search protocols. the president s personal lawyer, for example, last saturday put out a long memo, publicly explain the search protocols that they worked with the doj on. to make sure that everybody understood exactly why this happened the way i

dangle, the head of indictment from doj asking well, what kind of cooperation might he be able to offer? and we haven t seen any signs that they are negotiations that would try to head off this trial. so, you know, the train has left the station and this appears headed for trial. a great writer and a great lawyer in a story that requires both on a nightly basis around here. matt apuzzo, daniel godman, gentlemen, thank you both very much. coming up for us, trump may call the russia investigation a witch hunt and he may call what s now a search for a spy ring. we ll run this by a life-long intelligence officer when we come back. ron! something s going on at schwab. oh really? thank you clients? well jd power did just rank them highest in investor satisfaction with full service brokerage firms.again. and online equity trades are only $4.95. i mean you can t have low cost and be full service. it s impossible. it s like having your cake and eating it too. ask your broker if they offer a
