on the wheel here. i want to come back on this.of intent and i want to tie that to what kt mcfarland is saying, in terms of our responsibility to get everybody out with a date certain of august 31st. publicly the taliban has said there will be consequences if we stay beyond that date. so what we were talking about last hour, that means you have got to start to get your people out around august 28th because it s gonna take you two or three days to get the troops back off the ground and back up in the air. what is the pentagon, what is the president s intent to tell us that they are in charge of what date we leave because we know that can t possibly be true. they d be wrapping up the carpets now. i think what we have is an over abundance of smoke signals, saying one thing, doing another. saying one thing, meaning another. i think the ultimate intent there is not to signal to the taliban that they re going to stay past the 31st but they presume they will.

properly by going up some today. neil: i don t want to get too lost in the market here even though i m a nerd and i enjoy those weeds. i m curious as to how we make the chinese stick to this. other presidents have been fooled by the chinese saying one thing, doing another. they spied on us, ripped off a lot of our technology. you know, they make promises that they were going to stop that, make promises they would buy more and never materialized. that trust and verify goes back to ronald reagan. how do you do the same thing with the chinese? just follow up. we re not the greatest on following through. second, it s based on market conditions. so the fact that they re saying they re going to buy more soy beans should make us happy only because our soy beans on a question of price and quality are the best in the world. so yeah, we can trust that. it s in their interest to buy
not so rosy after all. but we talk in general terms. these only work if we can do it in conjunction with one another. two in one set of things commend the u.s. doing another. we have to be united in the financial sanctions we apply on the regime and things we can do what echo what we did with iran, for example before the nuclear deal which brought iran to its means and iran with the ability to raise internationally to pay its debts. it involved also sanctions on people trying to trade with iran under third parties as well. we ve got lots of tools we can use if we want to push it back. eboni: a lot of people expressed skepticism when it comes to sanctions. like you said, people do them in different ways than the overall effectiveness certainly seems to be next. when i talk about squeezing them
