ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) - Two Escondido women are hoping a dog they found abandoned at a dog park will soon be adopted into a safe home.
The dog was found tied up to a fence at Mayflower Dog Park in Escondido, reportedly left by two men.
Justine Hollins and Taylor Reynold saw a post about the dog late Sunday night. It was about 9:20 p.m. when they decided to drive over to the park to try and help.
The women say it was cold and that the dog was terrified, howling, and crying.

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WWBT) - The dog affectionately called ‘Peaches’ is expected to make a full recovery after she was found starving and tied to the fence at Colonial Heights Animal Shelter.
Officer Amanda Sverchek said her staffers had found the dog Tuesday morning in near-freezing temperatures.
“She was just sitting there on this thin little blanket, and we were all just in shock who just went and found her that way,” Sverchek said. “It was near 34 degrees out, and she was probably out there for a majority of the night, but we’ll never know how long for sure.”
