they re attempting to retaliate from the rule of law in our country, and we have to learn a lot more about this. but, you know, this is conduct you would expect from a despot, from a tyrant, from a leader of a country that s an adversary of the united states that doesn t share our values. time magazine is reporting that a russian oligarch through a middle man was pressuring paul manafort to repay his debts. we are talking about millions and millions of dollars in debts, and this was all happening during the 2016 election. manafort offered, according to an e-mail that time refers to in this report, briefings to a russian oligarch in order to, quote, get whole with the russians. what is your reaction to this rather stunning bit of news? well, i mean it is breathtaking. i mean to think that a person who is leading an american presidential campaign is in debt to a russian oligarch and is trading access, briefings by the
and what s fake is the right. it s manufactured. you are talking to somebody who disagreed with george bush s policies who remains offended by the willie horton ad, as really that was an independent ad, you know. it was a diluted version. it was really bad. but who longs for the ability to look at someone who doesn t share your politics and see. but this is basically a decent person. this is a person i can talk to. this is a person with whom we could perhaps work something out. not a mortal lifetime enemy with whom i can t even converse. gene is so right, and this is what the founders wanted.
was it a fair question and how do you think the answer went? it s fair to ask any president that, but there s no question that president trump is the most transparent, honest, forthright president we ve ever had. harris: why do you say that? he overcommunicates, almost to his detriment. he goes to twitter, he speaks directly to the american people without any filter, without going through a surrogate and that s powerful and that s really largely unprecedented in american history with the president. and in working back from there, embedded in the very question or the criticism of the president is there s a problem. the political media in this country has been totally dishonest and they ve attacked the president, they ve slandered him, they ve compared him to hitler, they ve incited violence against members of congress so the idea that the media doesn t share blame in this, it s disengeingenuous. we need to have a conversation
