LAKELAND A Lakeland artist is looking to add a vibrant splash of Southern charm to the city s Dixieland Historic District.
Kate Hall, 40, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $16,300 to fund a mural on the side of Low Country Vintage, an antiques store at 913 S. Florida Ave. in Lakeland. If funded by Jan. 30, Hall will paint the southern exterior wall of the building in a bold flower design she s titled Crape Blossoms. I ve really wanted to bring art to this area, she said. This area is really starting to embrace the public arts and outdoor murals.
Hall said she s been an artist for nearly 28 years selling custom individual art pieces to large-scale public murals, primarily in coastal tourist areas such as Mount Dora and Anna Maria Island. She s created artwork in Bartow, but has yet to paint her mark in Lakeland.
