TAIPEI: Taiwan s Defence Ministry on Monday reported a new incursion by China s air force into the island s air defence identification zone, made up of eight fighter jets and two other aircraft, one of which flew through the strategic Bashi Channel.
Chinese-claimed Taiwan has complained over the last few months of repeated missions by China s air force near the island, concentrated in the southwestern part its air defence zone near the Taiwan-controlled Pratas Islands.

In 2016, the BJP-led alliance had AGP, BPF and a few smaller regional parties with it. On the contrary, the Congress and the AIUDF did fight that poll separately. In some LACs, the Congress, AIUDF and the BJP-AGP alliance were logged in triangular fight. In most of such contests, the BJP-AGP alliance reaped the benefits.

NEW DELHI: Unlike other issues, the BJP-led Central government in New Delhi and the Congress-headed State government in Chhattisgarh, are unanimous over their offensive against Maoists in the red corridor of India.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that the Centre will intensify counter-insurgency operations against Maoists following the massive loss of CRPF troopers in a gun-battle on Saturday. Though the BJP and the Congress remain national political rivals, the state s Bhupesh Baghel government has reinforced the same view as that of Shah.

TINSUKIA: Though induction of new members is essential for strengthening the organizational base, retention of these members within the domain of the organization accounts to collective responsibility of all senior members, observed Lalita R Khadria, District Governor, 322 D Lions Club on the 4th Charter Night of Lions Club of Tinsukia City of Joy held at Tinsukia on Sunday.
The programme was chaired by the president of Lions Club of Tinsukia City of Joy, Biswajit Mazumder. During the programme, new members were inducted and cultural events organized. The secretarial report was presented by club secretary Navajyoti Gohain.

GUWAHATI: The new academic session (2021-22) has started in many private schools across the State.
The schools affiliated to the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) as well as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have reopened from Class KG to XII with a set of guidelines issued to parents and students. Parents entry inside the school premises has been completely prohibited and any student not wearing masks will not be allowed to attend schools. The private schools have asked parents not to send their children to schools in case they suffer from mild fever and other minor ailments.
