Right now, there is some snow in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Abc 7 News Reporter is live in Boulder Creek. What do you see out there . Reporter katie, we have been looking all over this morning for snow. And we finally found it. Theres a light dusting of fresh snow here on empire grade road in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Perfect for would be Christmas Trees and thats where we are at the Christmas Tree farm at the top of the mountain. It started snowing about 25 minutes ago for the first time today. Here on empire grade road. Not far from Boulder Creek. Light flurries up here but a cool, rare and beautiful sight for sure. Nonetheless. Sky 7 hd made a pass over the Lick Observatory in the last 30 minutes on mt. Hamilton and you can check that out. Its covered in a light blanket of snow this morning. Roads. Good evening. Im jessica aguire. We begin with breaking news in the east bay where a water main broke in castro valley. A fire truck is stuck in the flooding as well as cars. The break happened before 7 00 at the top of seven hills road. You can see the water rushing down the street. One resident said the water came to her garage and flooded her back yard as well as inside her house. We were in the living room and heard this rushing and thought it was pouring rain or something was happening and looked up and the water was rushing. Came out and it has been nonstop for at least a half hour. For has been a mess. Fire crews have been trying to shut the water off. Down the road is where it basically flooded. And we have crews from here trying to figure out what happened. We were just in our living room and just heard this rushing and thought it was either pouring rain or something was happening. Reporter Alameda County was out trying to figure out what was going on. But for some people it was too late. Water damaged living rooms decorated for the holidays. Some people tried to salvage what they could before heading out with children and their belongings.
