Nate Sobey trainee Divine Art ran up the score at Century Mile on Saturday night (Dec. 3), notching a 12th consecutive victory when taking the $112,910 Century Casinos Pace in 1:54.2.
Swish. Swish. Swish. Now say that 11 times in row because that’s how many consecutive victories Divine Art has put together in what has been a wonderfully magical year for the horse, the owners, the grooms and, of course, the trainer/driver Nathan Sobey.
Eliminations for the Western Canada Pacing Derby are set for this Saturday, Nov. 26 at Century Mile. Fourteen of the top three-year-old pacing colts and geldings in Western Canada will face off in a pair of $13,500 eliminations to determine the field for the $110,000 (est.) final, which will be contested on Saturday, Dec. 3.
Three-year-old pacing filly Divine Art took her double-digit win streak to Century Mile and tacked on another victory facing older mares as the winter meet kicked off at the Edmonton, Alta. oval on Friday night (Nov. 18).
