Alberta’s finest sparred on Saturday afternoon (Aug. 13) at Century Downs for its Mid-Summer Classic Card including reinsman Nate Sobey, who scored five wins on the 11-race card while also sweeping the finals of the $91,920 Gord and Illa Rumpel Memorial and the $77,740 Ralph Klein Memorial.
Century Downs played host to the popular Packwood Grand infield social event on Saturday (Aug. 6) with stakes action on the menu for the horsepeople and the horseplayers.
Once Divine Art swept to the lead past the half, the remaining competition could just chase in her wake as the Nate Sobey-trained favourite romped to a 1:53.3 win in the $56,600 Alberta Diamond Final on Saturday (July 9) at Century Downs.
Century Downs hosted a packed card of action Saturday (July 2) which included six $7,500 eliminations for the Alberta Sires Stakes with three Alberta Marksman eliminations for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings and three Alberta Diamond eliminations for three-year-old pacing fillies.
