MANSFIELD - Madison Comprehensive High School had more valedictorians in its class of 2021 than most schools have in several years combined: 17 valedictorians, each with a 4.0 grade point average.
Principal Sean Conway said it was the most valedictorians in school history. It was an unbelievable class of talented kids and not just skilled academically but also athletically, he said. They were all very, very special kids, said Conway.
There were over 200 graduates in the class of 2021, he said. The graduation ceremony had been scheduled for Friday night in the football stadium but bad weather moved it to indoors on Saturday night.

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah head baseball coach Bill Kinneberg announced today his decision to retire at the end of the season after 18 years at Utah and 37 overall as either a head coach or assistant.
The 2016 Pac-12 Coach of the Year after leading the Utes to the Pac-12 championship, Kinneberg has won 381 games at Utah and 625 total in his career. He has led Utah to two NCAA Tournament appearances, in 2009 and 2016. The 2009 Utes won the Mountain West tournament championship and earned Utah s first invitation to the NCAA Tournament since 1960. Competing in the Fullerton Regional, the Utes won two games, defeating Gonzaga and Georgia Southern.
FCA Annual Day Of Champions To Be Held May 16 Wednesday, May 12, 2021
Chattanooga FCA to Host Annual Day of Champions Sunday, May 16 The Greater Chattanooga Fellowship of Christian Athletes will host its annual Day of Champions event Sunday, May 16 at 3 PM at Ridgedale Baptist Church. At this event, the ministry will announce several award winners, most notably the 2021 FCA Christian Athlete of the Year.
Since 1965, the local FCA chapter has chosen a senior athlete nominated by their local school’s FCA sponsor for this award based on their character, leadership, and involvement with FCA. The winner will receive a college scholarship from the Gerald Sinkfield Memorial Scholarship Fund. Mr. Sinkfield was a prominent high school and college athlete who loved the FCA ministry and served on the Chattanooga FCA board for many years.
