IDAHO FALLS A Jefferson County man cried Monday afternoon as he pleaded guilty to shooting and killing his friend.
Marshall Dee Hendricks, 31, pleaded guilty to felony voluntary manslaughter with a deadly weapon before District Judge Dane H. Watkins Jr. Hendricks reached a plea agreement with Bonneville County Prosecutors last week and a second-degree murder charge was amended to manslaughter.
“I got into a conflict with a friend of mine,” Hendricks said as he pleaded guilty. “I became scared. When I seen (sic) him reach behind his back, I thought he was reaching for a gun and I didn’t wait for his hand to come back out to be sure and I shot him and it killed him.”

IDAHO FALLS The case of a woman charged with causing the inadvertent death of Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputy Wyatt Maser has been advanced to a higher court.
Jenna Holm, 35, appeared for the second part of her preliminary hearing Friday. She is charged with felony involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault. Bonneville County prosecutors allege Holm created a situation that led to Maser being hit by another deputy’s SUV, which killed him.
Rexburg man charged for alleged rape when he was 16

IDAHO FALLS Prosecutors charged a Rexburg man as an adult for an alleged rape committed when he was 16.
Alonzo Padilla, 18, pleaded not guilty to a felony rape charge on Monday. According to an affidavit of probable cause, Bonneville County Sheriff detectives were told by the victim that Padilla raped her multiple times while they were on a date in June 2019.
The victim described in graphic detail various sexual acts Padilla forced her to do as she said no. Between the alleged rapes, Padilla drove the car to new locations and during the sexual assaults, the victim reported she either passed or blacked out. Padilla drove the girl home following the encounter, according to the probable cause.

IDAHO FALLS A local man will spend up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to statutory rape in an incident where he admitted to exchanging a vape pen for sex with a teenage girl.
On Monday, District Judge Dane H. Watkins Jr. sentenced Tyler M. Meng, 26, to spend between two and 20 years in prison. Meng signed a plea agreement with Bonneville County prosecutors amending a felony lewd conduct charge to rape where the victim is under 16 and the perpetrator is 18 or older.
