Uniindia: New Delhi, June 29 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved Computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) with the objective of increasing efficiency of PACS, aiming to bring transparency and accountability in their operations, government said in a statement.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Wednesday approved computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) to increase their efficiency and bring transparency and greater accountability in their operations.
After the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) with the objective of increasing efficiency, the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) welcomed the historic step and said that the approval would connect even the last mile farmers.
As many as 63,000 functional PACS will be computerised over the next five years. The government on Wednesday approved Rs 2,516 crore for computerisation of functional 63,000 Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS) aimed at promoting financial inclusion.
