Delhi Commission for Women sends notice to police over Disha Ravi’s arrest

New Delhi, Feb 16: Delhi Commission for Women on Tuesday sent notice to Dy Police Commissioner, Cyber Crime Cell, Delhi Police over Disha Ravi s arrest.
The Commission has asked Police to provide copy of FIR, reasons for allegedly not producing her before local court for transit remand and a detailed action taken report.

Taking cognisance of media reports, the panel in a statement, issued on Tuesday, also said that Ravi was produced before a court in Delhi without a lawyer of her choice being present there.

New Delhi, Feb 16: Delhi Police Commissioner S N Shrivastava on Tuesday said the arrest of climate activist Disha Ravi was made in accordance with law which doesn t differentiate between a 22-year-old or 50-year-old .
Talking to reporters at an event here, Shrivastava said it is wrong when people say that there were lapses in the arrest of the 22-year-old activist.
Ravi was arrested from Bengaluru on Saturday in connection with a protest toolkit backing the farmers agitation.
Police claimed that she had sent the toolkit to teen climate activist Greta Thunberg through the Telegram app, and also coaxed her to act on it .
The arrest of Disha Ravi, a 21 year old climate activist for allegedly editing the toolkit shared by Greta Thunberg over the ongoing farmers agitation has triggered sharp reactions across the country.

Toolkit case: After Disha Ravi, Delhi Police looks for activist Nikita Jacob

New Delhi, Feb 15: The Delhi police has issued a warrant against activist, Nikita Jacob in connection with the toolkit case.
Earlier the police told a court that the arrest of Disha Ravi, one of the editors of toolkit used by Greta Thunberg was the first in the case. The police said that Disha have allegedly edited the toolkit on February 3 and many others are involved in the matter.
The court has sent Disha to five days police custody. She was arrested on Saturday. The police are looking for two more suspects in the case. While raids are being carried out in Mumbai and other places, the police are hunting for Nikita and Shantanu, two other accused in the case.
