Sivasagar (Assam), Feb 15: It is not in the Congress convention to announce a chief ministerial face in advance, and a decision on it will be taken after the Assam polls, the party s state unit chief Ripun Bora said on Monday and exuded confidence that the alliance forged to take on the ruling BJP will win over 101 of the 126 seats.
Slamming the BJP for its criticism of his party s alliance with the AIUDF for the upcoming state polls, Bora said the AIUDF chief, Badruddin Ajmal, is not anti-Hindu and the BJP, which accuses him of being communal, had in fact joined hands with his party to run three district councils in the state.

Patna, Feb 15: Many eyebrows were raised in Bihar on Monday as news broke of a meeting between CPI s rising star Kanhaiya Kumar and Ashok Choudhary, a minister and key aide of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
A fiery former JNU student leader, who has of late is being seen as veering towards Nitish Kumar despite their parties rarely getting on the same page on most issues, Kanhaiya met Choudhary on Sunday.
Choudhary had headed the state unit of the JD(U) during the assembly elections and played an instrumental role recently in enlisting the support of the sole BSP MLA Zama Khan and independent legislator Sumit Singh, both of whom were inducted into the cabinet last week.

Belagavi, Feb 15: The Karnataka government on Monday asked people possessing Below Poverty Line (BPL) ration cards, despite being ineligible on account of owning either a two wheeeler, TV, fridge or over five acres of land, to surrender them before March 31 or face legal action. There are parameters for possessing a BPL card. They should not have more than five acres of land, motorcycle, TV or fridge. Those who don t qualify on these parameters should return the cards or else we will do it, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Umesh Katti said at a press conference in Belagavi.
The Delhi Police said that Disha Ravi had sent the toolkit document to Greta Thunberg through the Telegram application.Addressing a press conference, the police said that Disha was arrested in the presence of her mother in Bengaluru and due procedure was followed.
