Rights. And i remember when president bush signed that law, he uttered these words. He said, let the shameful walls of discrimination come tumbling down. A wonderful day. And looking back over those 24 years, can anyone deny that our country has made great progress in expanding our concepts of the rights of people with disabilities, the right to be educated and welleducated, the right of people with disabilities to have independent living, to live on their own, not to be institutionalized, the right of people with disabilities to associate freely with others, the right of people with disabilities, children with disabilities, to go to school with other kids who are not disabled, the right of people with disabilities to travel freely with barriers broken do down, ramps, not stairs, buses that are fully accessible now, trains, everything accessible, every building designed in america think about that every building designinged and built in America Today is fully accessible. Caller thanks for taking my call. Thats going to be thats something fouled that one that was just on there. The filibuster change theyre talking about is just for president ial appointments. The advise and consent that bob spoke about, both sides play politics with that, and the politics of which president is that the republicans are not going to give him anything because he is a black man. We have to deal with race in this country. And its deepseated and i dont understand whoa he cant have his people, by a simple majority, let the republicans have their guys by a simple majority, take it out of the politics, and harry reid knows the constitution. It says in there, the president should have his people by a majority vote. Host sharon, home state of mitchell mcconnell, kentucky. Youre take on all of this. Caller good evening. Thank you for taking the call. I was raised a democrat in this wonderful state, basically youre putty much told that as a child, you need to be a democrat. I recent
For the legitimacy issue thats crucial, because there has to be a political solution and youre absolutely right. The problem is the political elite, what we are seeing is an election that most of them are the same guys. They are a known quantity and they dont have much respect in the street. Nevertheless, there has to be a timeline for elections. The interim president talks about july. The parliament met two days ago, and they agreed on a timeline that there might be elections, but they havent picked july as a date. As for the military, there is a window of opportunity. He has lost a lot of support in the coup. A lot of support. Thats one. Number two, youve got friends now and banco. And they have a possibility to exert pressure to get the military out of business. So that is a window right here. In which you can empower the civilian institutions at the expense of the military. But unless theres a political solution, we are not going anywhere. I just want to add, i really want to deemp
Two giant wordage finance firms played a role in writing that mortgages written in the housing boom are creations of congress in the Capital Requirement for this institution and oversight of those institutions was sent as it was for the banks. Guest i saw the elements of this in so many different facets of what i was covering. I covered the federal reserve, it was clear to me from covering the fed that the publickest make of that constitution that is changed in the last few years. When i look at morning market and stock market, why look at the rangeling that goes on between republicans and the white house, i mean, its clear theres common demon nateers here. I want to understand more about them and more about what was happening. I should say i got a lot of response to the story, and i get the sense from what viewers are saying too, i mean, people i think theres starting to recognize theres a problem. I talked to a few companies that see this as a fundamental problem with business and tr
Insurance you are on now, it will kick all forms of Health Insurance and leaving them unensuu uninsu uninsured. Today it became too much for the republicans to bear. They hold the lines and they can stop their own senators from peeling off the bill. They knew they lost dean heller and susan collinss a. And they thought they can still pass the bill by having Vice President mike pence coming in and casting a tie breaking vote. Not only did they hold that line of those two senators allowing them to pass the bill, that line collapsed today. It was not just heller and colli collins. It was the third and fourth and fifth and seventh and ninth. Yeah. Again, this is not republicans trying and failing to get democrats to vote with them. This is not some negotiations between parties ta failed because of partisan differences between the parties. Republicans were trying to repeal obamacare without talking to democrats about it and without trying for a single democratic vote. They probably would no
