A new monthly farmers market opens this weekend in Hope Mills.
The Market on Trade Street will be held the third Saturday of each month from May until October.
The market will run from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hope Mills Area Chamber of Commerce President Casey Ferris said the decision to hold the market on Saturday was made in deference to Dirtbag Ales, the Hope Mills brewery whose Sunday market is among the largest in the area.
Ferris said the market will help fill the void of the market run by the town s parks and recreation department, which hasn t returned from its 2019 season.
