Bushnell businesses could see economic relief

BUSHNELL The city of Bushnell will move forward with an application process for a grant opportunity designed to help local businesses stay afloat in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to Illinois.gov, the CURE Economic Support Payments Grant Program exists to offer an economic lifeline for businesses that have “experienced interruption of business attributable to the COVID-19 public health emergency”.
MAEDCO Executive Director Kim Pierce shared during Monday’s city council meeting that the city could be awarded up to $150,000 in grant money that could be dispersed to their local businesses. Each business that meets the requirements could receive $5,000.
