Horror after home of mum and her young children is firebombed

Friends today spoke of their horror after a nice mum and her three young children were forced to flee their home after it was firebombed.
Police and firefighters rushed to the scene on Dingle Lane, Dingle, shortly before 8.15am today.
This afternoon, neighbours and friends said the mum, who lives at the address with with four children, including twin teenage girls, was well-liked in the area. At the time of the incident three children were at property.

Starting point: The Thorn Inn, Appleton Thorn. FROM the car park at The Thorn Inn, cross the road to read the plaque about the history of the thorn tree. Now take the lane to the left of the war memorial. Turn left onto a footpath signposted to Blackcap Road. At its end, cross the road and walk along the left-hand edge of a field. Turn right into the next road and eventually left onto a path.

Police have cordoned off a road in Dingle amid concerns of a possible shooting. A section of Dingle Lane was closed off this morning as an investigation, thought to have been launched following an incident last night, continued.
Merseyside Police has not confirmed what officers are probing, though the ECHO is aware of claims gunshots were heard in the area just after 11pm.
The force already has a presence in Litherland this morning following a shooting on Harrington Road at around 10.30pm last night.
