With the knowledge that north korea conducted 20 missile test on over a dozen different occasions between february and september 2017, including tests of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, Many Americans and our allies around the globe remain on edge. However, americans may rightly wonder about north koreas ability to threaten the homeland. Intelligence from the kingdom is often inconsistent and limited, despite these intelligence challenges, information that has been gathered is reason enough for alarm. According to media reports, to north korean shipments to a Syrian Government Agency Responsible for the countrys Chemical Weapons Program were intercepted in the past six months. While these reports did not detail what the shipments to syria contained, this is not the first time a north korean ship has been seized carrying suspected Missile System components. So the idea is we sit together almost every day in the National Security council in the situation room x youll have a terrorist or terrorist group, and well each go around the table with all of the different authorities and expertise we bring to bear and say how do we disrupt them, stop them overseas before they can do an attack. For us though, when we realize looking at some of the success we had against the terrorist threat, that we needed to get better to applying that model when it came to cybersecurity nets. So over the last several years, weve reorganized in the division to do things like train prosecutors in every u. S. Attorneys office across the country to, on the one hand, handle that which is on the classified side sensitive sources, methods, what threats are and on the other hand, learn about bits and bites and the specific laws that apply to computer hacking like the Electronic Communications privacy act. And then send those trained prosecutor
