From information technology ministry using Koo to broadcast its stand on Twitter not fully complying with its order to take down inflammatory content to ministers, including Piyush Goyal, urging people to switch platform, these developments have led to a surge in the userbase of the Indian rival.
Ethical hacker Elliot Alderson, who exposed flaws in Aadhaar as well as the Aarogya Setu app, said the Koo app is leaking personal data and has a China connection.

NEW DELHI: Taking a jibe at the micro-blogging site- Twitter, Kangana Ranaut said that she will soon join homegrown App- Koo App and that time is up for Twitter.
It is to be mentioned that her remarks came after, Twitter in a blog posted that it has withheld some of the accounts flagged by the Indian government for blocking within India only , but has not blocked handles of civil society activists, politicians, and media as it would violate their fundamental right to free expression guaranteed under country s law.
Koo App: The Indian alternative to Twitter Is Not Safe?
Koo app is rising to fame as Twitter and the Indian government got off on a wrong foot on various issues. But as the Made-in-India app grew in popularity, it also drew a lot of criticism - mostly based on misinformation that is being passed along the internet.
There was a serious allegation against Koo app for leaking personal data of its users. This surely didn t sit well with 3 million people who joined the platform so far and many more who were on the fence about jumping the ship. But as it turns out, Koo is safe and has no red flags, at least ones we know of yet.
