She questions why no action has been taken despite his name figuring in FIR Former Union Minister and Odisha BJP in-charge Daggubati Purandeswari on Thursday demanded the immediate arrest of State Law Minister Pratap Jena, who has been named in a police complaint as an accused in a murder case.
Ms. Purandeswari led a BJP delegation to Nrutanga village in Cuttack district to meet family members of Kulamani Baral, former Mahanga Block chairperson, who was brutally hacked to death along with his associate Dibyasingh Baral.

With this, the total number of arrested reached six. The arrested was identified as Chaitanya Sethi who was nabbed from Gurudijhatia area under Choudwar police limits in the district, a police official said.
The prime accused Panchanan Sethi including four others namely Arabinda Khatua alias Aru, his father Kailash Khatua, Khitish Acharya and Lalit Mohan Baral belonging to Jankothi and Nurtanga villages under Mahanga police limits were arrested earlier.
The arrested were booked under Sections 147, 148, 120-B, 302, 149 of the IPC and Section 27 of Arms Act.
Notably, the duo Kulamani and his associate Dibyasingh were brutally murdered January 2 night. The prime accused Panchanan confessed Wednesday afternoon to have murdered Kulamani and his associate to take revenge for a past enmity between him and the deceased.
The SP, however, refused to provide further details including the motive and the modus operandi.

CUTTACK: Cuttack Rural police on Tuesday arrested four persons in connection with the murder of BJP leader and former Mahanga block chairman Kulamani Baral and his associate Dibyasingh Baral. Police said the accused are Panchanana Sethi (28), Arabinda Khatua (27) of Jankothi, Khitish Acharya (45) and Lalit Mohan Baral (75) of Nurtanga. They were nabbed from different places on Monday night and the weapons alleged used in the crime recovered from a bush near the murder spot.

According to a source, Dibyasingh Baral a local leader of BJP was returning home Saturday evening with Dibyasingh on a motorcycle. Some unidentified miscreants attacked the duo with sharp weapons near Jankoti area in Cuttack district. Both sustained critical injuries in the attack.
According to an eyewitness, a group of six armed youths repeatedly hacked the duo leaving them critically injured.
Locals rescued the injured in critical condition. Later, they were rushed to community health centre (CHC) at Mahanga in an ambulance. However, doctors declared Kulamani ‘brought dead’.

Bhubaneswar, Jan 3 : A day after a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was murdered in Odisha s Cuttack district, the party on Sunday alleged that the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has started eliminating rivals similar to what the Trinamool Congress in neighbouring West Bengal.
BJP leader Kulamani Baral and his associate Dibya Singh Baral were murdered in Salepur area of Cuttack district.
While Kulamani died at Mahanga hospital on Saturday night, his associate succumbed to injuries at SCB Medical College Hospital on Sunday morning.
