With this, the total number of arrested reached six. The arrested was identified as Chaitanya Sethi who was nabbed from Gurudijhatia area under Choudwar police limits in the district, a police official said.
The prime accused Panchanan Sethi including four others namely Arabinda Khatua alias Aru, his father Kailash Khatua, Khitish Acharya and Lalit Mohan Baral belonging to Jankothi and Nurtanga villages under Mahanga police limits were arrested earlier.
The arrested were booked under Sections 147, 148, 120-B, 302, 149 of the IPC and Section 27 of Arms Act.
Notably, the duo Kulamani and his associate Dibyasingh were brutally murdered January 2 night. The prime accused Panchanan confessed Wednesday afternoon to have murdered Kulamani and his associate to take revenge for a past enmity between him and the deceased.
The SP, however, refused to provide further details including the motive and the modus operandi.

CUTTACK: Cuttack Rural police on Tuesday arrested four persons in connection with the murder of BJP leader and former Mahanga block chairman Kulamani Baral and his associate Dibyasingh Baral. Police said the accused are Panchanana Sethi (28), Arabinda Khatua (27) of Jankothi, Khitish Acharya (45) and Lalit Mohan Baral (75) of Nurtanga. They were nabbed from different places on Monday night and the weapons alleged used in the crime recovered from a bush near the murder spot.
