Triumph Philippines Opens Bookings For Trident 660

When Triumph unveiled the Trident 660 in the global market late last year, the entire motorcycle world watched in awe as the middleweight naked bike segment was introduced to what could quite possibly be one of the best bang for buck bikes in the market. Equipped with a three-cylinder engine, the Trident 660 came as a breath of fresh air in a segment dominated by parallel twin and v-twin machines.
Equipped with a 660cc three-cylinder engine, the Trident 660 produces 80 horsepower, and features a slew of electronic rider aids. For starters, it gets ride-by-wire throttle and two riding modes: Road and Rain. Latest entry into the middleweight motorcycle market is the 2021 Triumph Trident 660, with a launch price of 7,195 pounds sterling (RM38,757). The Trident 660 joins the Hinckley firm’s lineup of naked sports bikes including the 765RS, 765R and 765S and faces competition from the likes of the Yamaha MT-07, Kawasaki Z650 and Honda CB650F in its class.
Carrying Triumph’s signature engine configuration, the inline-triple, liquid-cooled with 12-valves and DOHC, the Trident 660 gets a claimed 80 hp at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm. There is also a restricted power version, meant for the UK’s A2 licence class, that gets 46 hp at 8,750 rpm and 59 Nm at 5,250 rpm.
2021 Triumph Trident priced at RM43,900 in Malaysia

Latest addition to the Triumph triple stable in Malaysia is the 2021 Triumph Trident 660, priced at RM43,900 excluding road tax, insurance and registration. Choosing the premium colour option for Triumph’s latest middleweight naked sports bumps the price up by RM1,000 to RM44,900with stocks expected to arrive in Triumph Malaysia showrooms on February 20.
In comparison, the Trident 660 is priced at the equivalent of RM38,757 in UK and RM41,383 in Thailand. Local competition in the middleweight naked sports market comes from the four-cylinder Honda CB650R, priced at RM43,499 while the Kawasaki Z650 ABS (RM35,609) and the Yamaha MT-07 (RM38,888) are both parallel-twins.
