Pro-Invest Group ( Pro-Invest ), announced
Greenland, over the acquisition of
Sydney s Primus Hotel. Situated within Sydney s central business district, the
172-key hotel would be the firm s
first property in the luxury sector and would feature a lobby bar, restaurants, conference spaces, rooftop swimming pool and a gymnasium. This acquisition adds to Pro-invest s hotel pipeline, where
five other hotels are scheduled to open in the next two years. This includes the new Holiday Inn Express Hotels in Melbourne, Parramatta and Auckland, and the management of voco Brisbane City Centre and Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre. Once completed, Pro-invest s hotel portfolio would consist of over 3,000 rooms across Australia and New Zealand. Come March 2021, Banyan Tree Group will be the first international hotel brand to develop an integrated resort comprising Banyan Tree, Angsana and Dhawa in Quzhou of Zhejiang Province - the scholarly hometown of Chinese philosopher Confucius in Southern China.
Busy Year Ahead for Banyan Tree as Group Prepares to Open 8 Hotels
(11 Feb 2021) Banyan Tree has an exciting year planned, with eight hotels scheduled to open by year-end.
The company signed 20 hotel management agreements in 2020, adding to its already impressive pipeline of 35 properties slated to open within the next 3 years.
This year, Banyan Tree will be entering new forays in 3 regions across 8 destinations globally. In addition to openings in Asia (Cambodia, Indonesia and China), the group will fly its first flags in the Middle East (Qatar), Europe (Greece) and Africa (Mozambique).

Despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Southeast Asia’s homegrown Banyan Tree Group remains on a strong footing going into 2021, having signed 20 hotel management agreements the previous year, on top of the 35 properties that are due to open between now and 2024. In the coming months, its global expansion will be marked by several significant milestones.
