The results of Haryana Panchayat polls were declared on Sunday with the candidates of the BJP, AAP and INLD registering victory on several seats of zila parishads in the state.
The Indian National Lok Dal, which contested 72 zila parishad seats, won 14 of them in the elections. The Congress did not run its party symbol in the panchayat elections. The political parties also claimed that the candidates they supported won several zila parishad seats
As the counting of votes for the polls held to elect members of 143 panchayat samitis and 22 zilla parishads in Haryana began, Indian National Lok Dal’s Karan Chautala won from zila parishad in Sirsa.
Haryana State Election Commissioner Dhanpat Singh today said that all three phases of the panchayat elections had been completed peacefully across the state.
