Police had detained several farmers, including Chaduni Tuesday when they were blocking Delhi-Ambala national highway (NH-44) near Kurukshetra seeking procurement of sunflower seeds at minimum support price (MSP) in Haryana.
The results of Haryana Panchayat polls were declared on Sunday with the candidates of the BJP, AAP and INLD registering victory on several seats of zila parishads in the state.
The Indian National Lok Dal, which contested 72 zila parishad seats, won 14 of them in the elections. The Congress did not run its party symbol in the panchayat elections. The political parties also claimed that the candidates they supported won several zila parishad seats
