The Commonwealth Secretariat and the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) have launched a new taskforce to step up efforts towards preventing and treating cervical cancer. The ‘International Taskforce on Cervical Cancer Elimination in the Commonwealth’ aims to encourage and facilitate cooperation between countries.

May 7, 2021 Bullet Tree Health Clinic is Officially Inaugurated Today, the Government of Belize inaugurated a health clinic in the village of Bullet Tree in the west. At an official ceremony this afternoon, Minister of Health and Wellness, Michel Chebat and C.E.O. Deysi Mendez were joined by Prime Minister John Briceño as the health facility was officially opened. The goal is to make healthcare accessible to the over six thousand residents in the village and surrounding areas. After years without a facility, the health centre was realised today. That’s the information coming to News Five this afternoon after the embattled DHS was reportedly sent home effective today for five days. We have confirmed that on Monday, Doctor Manzanero was given a letter to sign, saying that he was willing to take the demoted position at the HIV Unit of the Ministry of Health and Wellness. However, he was advised not to sign the letter and so today, disciplinary action is being brought against the DHS for something that happened before the current administration took office.
