Shares of Computer Age Management Services (CAMS) rallied 9 per cent to Rs 1,752 on the BSE in the intra-day trade on Monday, surging 16 per cent in the past two trading days, on the back of heavy volumes. The stock was quoting at its highest level since its listing in October 2020. At 01:43 pm, CAMS was trading 7 per cent higher, as compared to a 0.82-per cent decline in the S&P BSE Sensex. Trading volumes on the counter jumped an over four-fold and a combined 1.3 million equity shares had changed hands on the NSE and BSE till the time of writing of this report.

At 7:45 am, the SGX Nifty was down 0.27%, indicating a tepid start for Nifty50. The US equities closed mixed on Wednesday as investors mulled the Federal Reserve’s forecast, disappointing economic data, and progress toward passing new stimulus. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 0.15% lower, and the S&P 500 was up 0.18%.

Key benchmark indices are trading firm in early trade on buying demand in index pivotals. At 9:27 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, was up 41.91 points or 0.09% at 46,708.37. The Nifty 50 index was up 9.10 points or 0.07% at 13,691.80. The Sensex scaled record high above 46,750 mark in early trade. The Nifty also hit record high above 13,700 mark.
The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index was up 0.26%. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 0.41%.
The market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, is strong. On the BSE, 1340 shares rose and 750 shares fell. A total of 106 shares were unchanged.
